Well here is a topic about pet insurance! I have Chloe on pet insurance with Pet Secure. www.petsecure.com She is on Secure 4 which is the best one available because it includes "Preventative Care". I find Secure 4 is amazing for puppies, but once they get older you don't use the Preventative part of it as much as when they were a pup. So the things that are included in the preventative section are: Annual exams (includes vaccinations), heartworm testing, 6 month supply of heartworm prevention & flea prevention, blood profile, urinalysis, fecal test or routine deworming, puppy vaccines, spay or neuter, microchip, and dew claw removal. I found ALL those came in handy, especially when Chloe was a pup. Every vet visit I have made I have been able to claim whatever I've gone for. Now one thing is that in their policy they claim they don't cover eye procedures and when I was on the phone with them they said they would not cover Chloe's eye tacking. I went ahead and sent in the claim - and they covered it. Same as with her entropian surgery she just got - they covered it as well. But use that as your own discretion, I am not in any way saying 100% sure they will cover it - but they covered two of Chloe's eye procedures so there is a good chance. I think now that Chloe's out of puppyhood I will switch to Secure Three because I won't use as many preventative care things to make it worth it. There are other companies that offer pet insurance, I do not know them or how good they work, but I know there are others. For my pet insurance I pay about $80 a month, and it has definitly been worth every penny. I know Devi just put Jovi & Zephyr on it. (Would have came in handy for Zephyr before), but now both are covered Anyone interested check out their website, they have a pretty understandable and easy to read site.

Thanks Melissa! Yes, both Zephyr and Jovi are on the Petsecure insurance. I was never a fan of these pay by the month insurance companies for dogs, but I have most certainly changed my thinking! I personally spent over $35,000 on Posh, a Shar Pei, and by the end of December Zephyr will be sitting at about $7000.00 in vet bills. ALL OF WHICH were not covered, as I did NOT have insurance! Finally, I decided that it was in fact something very much worthwhile. I would suggest strongly that you consider pet insurance. It gives you instant peice of mind. And epending on the plan, comany and deductable you go with the costs are not huge. Zephyr costs about $62 a month while Jovi, a pup is about $90. Consider your opinions. We believe Petsecure was the way to go, but in no way advocate or promote them over anyone else. Please feel free to tell other members who you use and what you think. Thanks all! Devi
