Yesterday Aurora had what appeared to be kennel cough, Today no cough just a really yucky runny nose. Ick!! She is eating well and has lots of energy so I am hoping it is just a cold (why shouldn't she have one since both my husband and I do) Any thoughts?

Could be kennel cough. Did she get a bortetella vaccine? I know Aurora spends time with a pack so it could happen. It's pretty hot and heavy here where I live these days. The dog show people are doing the bortetella thing......Watch her and if she keeps up the coughing I'd take her in. Just me. Also ask your doggy service lady if anyother in the pack are coughing, thats important to know. Keep us posted. Devi

Hi Devi, Andrea strongly advised against the Bortatella vaccine. The cough only lasted a day but the runny nose continues. I thought I would give her a week and if she doesn't get better we will take her to the vet. Thanks for your comments.

Zephyr got the Bortatella when he was young and we were in handling classes. Jovi got it when she went in awhile back as well. Every area of the country is different. IE; Bever Fever. Here in Manitoba, it's advised. More so this year as there seems to be a rise in kennle cough. To be honest I was never advised against using the vaccine. I hope she gets over whatever it is soon...........Devi
