Well, I believe in treats, as long as they are healthy. I have a pretty good list that Zephyr loves!

Bananas, sardines, carrots, cucumbers, green pepper, yogurt, peanut butter, apple etc. Anything along that line, and he gets it. When I buy store bought commercial treats they must have a short ingredient list. Like one ingredient......Ok, more, but not much more. I like the pure 100% sweet potato chips, 100% pure salmon strips, 100% pure whatever, as look as it's 100% pure. All natural means very little to me as a rule. All natural junk is just that, in SOME cases anyway. Just becareful when feeding treats. Too much is not good.......As for bananas? Zephyr gets one whole banana everyday. I see it as a health way to try and get him to gain weight. Devi

She loves veggies and fruits as you have mentioned, sardines, peanut butter, etc

The store bought treats that I buy her are the Wellness ones, and some other ones (Sorry I forget the names! I just dump them into her big treat jar!)

But what I look for in the ingredients is good ingredients like fish, meat, veggies , etc , ALL Chloe's treats are grainfree.

I find when she eats grainfree her skin and fur is excellent!

I want to post several store bought dog treats that I think are truly healthy and safe for our dogs. As I said before, I like treats with very few ingredients. I think I have a good collection to choose from now. The only issue I have is that some of the treats on my list are made in China. The only reason I believe they are okay, is because there is really NOTHING in them. Please consider and get into the habit of reading ingredients on both treat bags and dog food bags. Know what you are giving you pet.

- Veggie Life Happy Hips Sweet Potato Chew. AND Veggie Life Happy Hips Chicken & Banana. Distributed by Dogswell. Made in China.  1st item, ONLY sweet potato, 2ND item, Banana/Chicken Breast. 

- Happy Hips Duck Breast. Distributed by Dogswell. Made in China. Contains ONLY duck breast.

- Salmon Strips. Made by Plato Dog Treats. Made in the U.S. This product contains mostly salmon and brown rice.

- Sweet Potato and Chicken. Cadet Real Meat Snack Gourmet treats. Made in China. Distributed by IMS Pet Industries, U.S.A. Contains ONLY Chicken meat and Sweet potato. 

- Duck and Sweet Potato. Distributed by VitaLife. Made in China. Contains ONLY duck and sweet potato.

- Benny Bully's Heart Chops. Made in Canada. Contains 100% pure dehydrated chicken heart. ( this company also makes other 100% pure items. IE: clams etc.

- Salmon Fillets. Made in Canada. Contains 100% dried wild pacific salmon ONLY! You can order thru snack21treats.com

- Duck and Sweet Potato. Distributed by Nature's Medley. Made in China.  Contains ONLY duck and sweet potato. ( they also make Duck Tenders, a jerky like treat )

- Sojos Grain-Free Lamb and sweet potato biscuits. Made in the U.S.A. by Sojourner Farms.  www.sojos.com Sojos, in my opinion makes a healthy safe product.

I am still a huge fan of REAL treats. IE; banana, yorgurt, peanut butter, cucumber, apple, peas, carrots, sardines, canned salmon, green/red/yellow peppers, blueberries, strawberries etc.........

This is great information. Devi, I feel bad that I gave Zephyr a Nutro Puppy cookie the other day. The next time I see you I will have been to Tailblazers and loaded up on natural treats for our doggies.

Susan, Tailblazers has great treats! The most important thing to look for is a small ingredient list. Items like salmon skin jerky, beef lung, sweet potatoe chips are all pure.

As for Nutro puppy cookies? Yeah, no.....I try very hard to avoid most of the biscuit treats regarless of brand. Go by Petcuran has a treat that is grain free but is also a biscuit. I would be alright with those and they are sold at most pet food stores. Try and get the SOJOS brand treats. I really trust them and they are made in the U.S. Also, N-R-G brand dog food makers make treats! Try their salmon strips!
