Hi all!
In February some of you may have read an article
by Naomi Kane called, "Oodles Of Doodle's"
It was an OPINION piece on Labradoodles and
designer dogs in general.
I am personally not an advocate of ANY so called
designer breed/hybrids. That's just my opinion.
I guess I have an issue with breeding cross breds
and selling them for $2500 when we can't get that
(in most cases) for our purebred, well bred, Shar
Pei. Not to mention at one time these x-breds could
be had for free of $15!
ANYWAY, I sent in MY opinion on the article,
and in this months Dogs In Canada you can see
what I had to say! They printed my feedback!
This can be seen in the April edition on page.11
I just want to add, we all have our OPINIONS on
the subject. Some will agree with me while others
will be 100% against me. That's ok. I do hope
I don't get anyone's wrath here. I am sharing simply
to share. Not to get my head handed to me.....

Ooodles of Doodles and puddles of Pei! I was blown away by Naomi Kane's
article in your last issue. Naomi and I are 100% of the same mind on
this subject. A so called Labradoodle when I was a kid could be bought
for $15.00 in the local classified. Now they are HOW much?
Speaking from a Shar Pei perspective, I am seeing far too many ORIPEI
(Shar Pei/Pug) BULLPEI (Shar Pei/Bulldog) and BABY WALRUS (Shar
Pei/Basset HOUND) pups that are flooding the market with oodles of
health issues! Who really thinks these designer dogs are a good idea?
Not me. In my experience a repuptable quality breeder does not or
should not sell puppies with breeding rights to just anyone. Therefore,
in my opinion, the quality of the foundation stock of these designer
dogs is highly suspect to me. What a sad combination of madness and
sadness!
