I just wanted to stress how very imperative it is to do your research BEFORE you buy a puppy of ANY kind, muchless a Shar pei.

I am on another Shar pei open forum and am amazed and saddened everytime a NEW owner posts asking for help. Although I am more then happy to help, I am often maddened to discover the puppy was purchased on a whim. Or even said to have been purchased after much research. Obviously not nearly enough IMO.

This is not a breed you buy without doing your due diligence! There is far too much heart ache in your future if you don't know what you are getting into!

Please everyone, do your research!

Plan your purchase!

Buy from ONLY reputable breeders!

Speak to 10 breeders, not just one with a good sales pitch!

Visit your breeders home if at all possible!

Ask the breeder for the telephone number of THEIR vet, and CALL THEM!

DO NOT make PRICE a reason to buy from a breeder! You may get what you pay for with a cheap puppy!

Consider pet insurance once you buy ANY puppy! 

Please save yourself future heart ache and buy responsibly!

I totally agree girl! I wish now I had purchased insurance for my gang.  I'm sure it would have helped out with some of their expenses. I think trying to see their pedigrees are good too, if you know how to read them that is.

My neighbor just bough this puppy from a PUPPY MILL!!! And she admitted it! Yicks !!!

PLEASE DON'T "KEEP" PUPPY MILLS IN BUSINESS BY BUYING FROM
THEM.......
