Have you ever had any issues with using plastic food and water dishes??? There are a great many that believe plastic dishes can cause the dogs nose color to go from black to pink or a tan shade. For this reason I use ONLY stainless steel dishes. Not to mention I think they are cleaner then plastic.

I suppose ceramic dishes would be as good as stainless steel, and still better then plastic.

In my experience the larger the bowl the better. I like a low rimmed, WIDE bowl. The Shar Pei has a pretty big mugg and the wider opening seems to be easier for them. Plus it seems to keep there face just a wee bit cleaner while eating. If that's possible.

Personally my dogs get their faces wiped clean/dry EVERY single time they eat or drink.

Chloe uses stainless steel,

She likes a smaller bowl for food so it doesnt move around on her.

Her water bowl is quite a bit larger though.

She also gets her chin wiped after eating and drinking - if not she likes to SHARE!
