I have never been a huge fan of crating my dogs at night. Crates have a roll, and serve a purpose. For me, as long as my dog is CRATE TRAINED, I see no need to crate them at night. As for Zephyr, who lives full time with me, he has a large doggy bed that sit's directly beside my own. At night Zephyr snoozes on his bed in comfort. During the day Zephyr has full and total run of our home. I trust him.

As for Jovi, my little co-owned girl, she sleeping in a crate at night in Edna and Ron's

kitchen. Jovi came from the breeder at 4 months of age. She was already fully crate trained and was very use to spending her night's in one. Both Edna and I agreed why change? Jovi goes to bed at about 1000PM and is silent till she is awaken at about 7:00AM. For Jovi the crate is working well. We feel that if she doesn't mind it we will keep it up. It will make dog shows much easier in the future!

When it came to my beloved heart dog Posh? She could never be kept in a crate. NEVER! Posh had full and total run of the house from 7.5 weeks, till her passing at 8 years of age. Posh was one of those dogs that never did anything wrong. I could trust her 100%.

Aww cute how Jovi loves her crate so much!

Chloe used to stay in her crate at night when she was younger.

Now she is allowed out at night and she behaves herself.

She has a doggie bed at the foot of my bed which she sleeps on and she also can come onto my bed if she chooses - usually she'd rather sleep on her own bed though.

When I am away I have to put her in her crate because she might chew something - usually gets into the recycling and chews paper. This is a hit or miss, she can go many times without doing this and then one day she will do it.

So she stays in her crate.

Kamja loves to share my bed with me. He does however refuse to sleep with my husband. (that's because he is all arms and legs, it's like sleeping with an octopus). He will sleep on his blanket at the foot of the bed until my husband gets up and goes to work, then he will jump in bed with me, which is great in the cold winter months!

penelope sleeps on her chair, munchkin sleeps on the dogbed, and sabrina either sleeps on the couch or the dogbed next to the couch. lulu used to sleep in my bed.
